Let’s go into the basement of the vocal range: The Operatic Bass! Operatic basses and bass-baritones, from the start, were most often singing parts for imposing characters — fathers, kings, conquerors or villains. Take a vocal ride down the scale from the Basso Cantante to the booming Basso Profondo all the way to the power of the Russian Oktavist. Hear the basses rumble! Enjoy an audiovisual potpourri of operatic bas-baritones and basses, illustrated with the arias and scenes by famous singers of the past and the present.

She is a board member of the New England Opera Club, former vice president of the Boston Wagner Society and teacher of opera appreciation for LLAR at Regis College, for WISE at Assumption College and Newton Lifelong Learning. Her last offering for Edgewood was “Let’s bring on the Operatic Baritones!”
