In these illustrated talks a biologist looks back at a career in industry and academia. The talks will be broadly autobiographical and will not be highly technical. They will deal largely with drug discovery and its unexpected consequences in veterinary and human medicine. Part 1 (April 23) will consider ways in which sciences and art can be juxtaposed or blended, giving special attention to the use of science as a theme in poetry and painting. Part 2 (May 14) will put more emphasis on treating and controlling a tropical disease. Both parts will terminate, figuratively speaking, at big houses-one in Washington, one in Stockholm Bill Campbell is a biologist and a resident of Edgewood Retirement Community.
