One thing about this 2016 election year that is certain is that all predictions and past patterns have pretty much been thrown out the window as one development after another has stumped the experts, surprised the candidates themselves, and puzzled the electorate. Even a fixed election day for casting all but absentee ballots has become a thing of the past as Massachusetts joins other states in making early voting available.
To help us try to make some sense of all this, Edgewood Lifelong Learning (ELL) has invited Dr. Andrew Smith, Director of the Survey Center and Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of New Hampshire, along with Dr. William Mayer, Professor of Political Science at Northeastern University to share their insights as long-time observers of American presidential elections, public opinion, candidates, and campaigns.
