Abigail Whitney describes how a colonial family provided for their basic needs. Using primary sources like the family’s probate inventory, learn about which items were important for survival and how they were made. Audience members are encouraged to explore reproduction artifacts just like those that were a part of everyday life. Explore the importance of craftsmen and imported goods. Discover how a family not only survived, but thrived!
Gail Hamel developed a persona portraying Abigail Whitney as an extension from her work as an educator for the Concord Museum. Gail has a B.A. from Kenyon College with a major in music and a master’s in education from Lesley University. She is a Boston Freedom Trail Guide and a tour guide for the town of Concord, MA.
