Chris Wilkinson is an adjunct professor at UMass Lowell in the Political Science Department. His expertise and research focus on Political Economy, Food Policy, Politics of Virtual Identity & Social Media. He’s published on policy and the economic impact of virtual identity in interactive media. In 2016 he was awarded the Haskell Memorial Award for distinguished teaching and was recently featured in the spring 2018 issue of UMass Lowell Alumni magazine with a feature on his politics of food course.

The Politics of Food, aims to “break down the misconceptions our society has surrounding this most necessary commodity,” he says. In doing so, it offers a withering look at what he calls the “gross manipulation” of the system through which food is processed, distributed and sold.

A husband and father of two, Chris is also the Co-Founder and CEO of techfourfive LLC, a technology consulting and solutions company based in New Hampshire. Chris is the community and government relations coordinator at UMass Lowell and represents the university’s economic interests on several boards and in the business community on the Board of Directors of the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce.
