Great Decisions is a nation-wide discussion program sponsored by the New York-

based Foreign Policy Association to encourage debate on the important global issues

of our time. Each year, the Association publishes a briefing book with essays on

eight thought-provoking foreign policy challenges facing Americans. The essays

serve as the focal text for discussion groups all over the United States. This will be

the fourth year for the Great Decisions program here at Edgewood. It will be

coordinated again by resident Peggy Karns with three other residents moderating

sessions. The course will include five of the 2017 topics, plus an introductory

session and special final session on Putin and Russia. The course sessions will take

place in the auditorium on Monday afternoons from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., beginning

January 23rd. Course Registration is limited to 30. All who sign up are expected to

buy the Great Decisions 2017 book ($20.00) and commit to attending the majority of

sessions. The cost of the book will be billed to your account. Because there are many

new Edgewood residents, the initial registration will be limited to 15. Please sign up

in the ELL Binder located at the Life Enrichment Sign Up Desk. The remaining seats

will be open for registration at the introductory session on Monday, January 23 rd .
