Abby Chandler is associate professor of early American history at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Her first book was titled, “Law and Sexual Misconduct in New England: 1650-1750.” She is currently working on a book project examining political rebellions in North Carolina and Rhode Island in the 1760s. This two-part lecture series examines colonial Andover history through the lens of a series of Essex County court trials from the 1690s involving the Sessions, Chandler, Abbot, Osgood, Russ and Carrier families.
