THE 2ND, THE 9TH, THE 14TH: LIVING AMENDMENTS
with Professor Patrick Wohlfarth, University of Maryland
Could The Founders have known that the Constitution they framed in 1789
would be so durable, so subject to reinterpretation 200 years on? Join us for
an investigation of three of the amendments to the US Constitution which
exemplify its genius and its foundational importance in our government.
Patrick C. Wohlfarth is Associate Professor, Department of Government &
Politics at the University of Maryland. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from
UNC Chapel Hill. His research and teaching interests include American politics
with a focus on judicial politics and inter-institutional politics. His current
research projects examine judicial influence on the executive branch and the
impact of public opinion on the Supreme Court. Wohlfarth is the 2015 recipient
of the Excellence in Teaching Award from the College of Behavioral and Social
Sciences at the University of Maryland.
