Come and explore Giuseppe Verdi’s Grand Opera: AIDA. Aida takes place in ancient Egypt. There are pharaohs, impassioned princesses, oppressed slaves and heaps of spectacles, including a Triumphal March. A truly Grand Opera! But Verdi’s ultimate goal was the expression of human drama. HD-transmission: October 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Even if you are familiar with the opera, this lecture will give you a fresh and in-depth appreciation of this masterpiece.
Erika Reitshamer is an engaging teacher whose knowledge and love of opera will inspire all, and her open style and sense of humor are irresistible.
