The acclaimed trio celebrates the season with favorites like “Sleigh Ride,” “Santa Baby,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Chestnuts Roasting on An Open Fire,” and other festive tunes. Musicians Peter H. Bloom, Mark Leighton and Dave Zox have performed together for many years, winning praise for superb musicianship and entertaining concerts. They play with style and verve.
Flutist Peter H. Bloom performs in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia and is featured on more than 40 recordings (Sony Classical, Dorian, Leo, other labels). Widely acclaimed as a jazz artist, he has been hailed for “exquisite melody” (Jazz Improv) and “hip jazzy flute work” (Allaboutjazz), while Arts Fuse wrote, “His solos on flute and amplified flute are always highlights of a performance.” Bloom has appeared with jazz luminaries Charles Neville, Jaki Byard, Sheila Jordan, Geri Allen, Mark Harvey and others, and is a veteran of the legendary Aardvark Jazz Orchestra (45th season).
Guitarist Mark Leighton is a jazz and classical guitarist known for his superb artistry and wide-ranging repertoire. He has performed as a soloist and ensemble player at Colby College, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, King’s Chapel, The Ritz-Carlton, The Taj, Boston Public Library and many other venues. He serves on the Applied Music Faculty at Colby College and teaches at Eastern Nazarene College and St. George’s School.
Bassist Dave Zox has played with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Artie Shaw Band, Herb Reed and the Platters, and other illustrious groups, as well as with renowned musicians such as John Abercrombie, Garrison Fewell, Kenny Werner, and Phil Woods. Dave appears regularly in the Boston area with the Al Vega Trio, pianists Ray Santisi and Harvey Diamond and many more.
