The Service Dog Project (SDP) has donated over 150 Great Dane service dogs to individuals with mobility limitations to assist them in achieving greater independence. Preference is given to veterans and their families as well as residents of the New England area.
SDP is located on a 12 acre property in Ipswich with fields for the dogs to play and a large arena for training. All kennels are heated and air conditioned with in-out doors and 2nd story sleeping lofts. These areas provide the necessary space to raise the dogs from birth through graduation and even back for retirement as needed. SDP has grown to include over 110 volunteers and at any time can be the home of up to 30 dogs or more in training.
Carlene White, President and Founder of the Service Dog Project will share her story of how the service dog project began and will bring two adult service dogs and a puppy to visit!
