For coffee lovers, this presentation will bring you into the world of coffee

geography, growing, processing and tasting presented by Katie Goodall, a visiting

lecturer at Wellesley College. Katie is currently a visiting lecturer at Wellesley

College, where she teaches courses on food and agriculture in the Environmental

Studies Program. She gained a doctorate degree from the University of Vermont and

a Master’s from the University of Michigan, studying the field of agro ecology in both

institutions. Agro ecology is a field of study that conceptualizes agricultural systems

as ecosystems, values farmer knowledge and promotes sustainability through

diversity. Katie has conducted research in the coffee lands of southern Mexico and

Nicaragua, focusing on biodiversity conservation, farmer livelihoods and sustainable

production. She is also an avid coffee drinker, and has probably already had too

much today. Please sign up in the ELL Book at the Life Enrichment Desk. Space is

limited to 30 people.
