Caring for a loved one with dementia can be many things: stressful, demanding, exhausting. One thing it is not is easy. And while we can’t promise to make providing dementia care easy for you, we can offer ways to make it more manageable.
For example, did you know that, according to Alzheimers.net, you can use music to enhance memory recall in your loved one? Try creating a playlist of their favorite tunes and playing it for them. You may start to notice improvements in their cognitive ability as they rediscover their favorite sounds.
You’ll find even more helpful dementia care tips at our next caregiver training and support session, which we’ll be hosting alongside the Hearthstone Institute.

This session’s curriculum is based on the Hearthstone Institute’s award-winning I’m Still Here™ approach — a philosophy that provides a proven method for relieving many of the challenges faced by people living with dementia, as well as those faced by their caregivers.
At the foundation of the I’m Still Here™ approach is the belief that your loved one is still who you’ve known them to be and can continue to experience a high quality of life with the right care and support. The program’s innovations have been widely adopted by professional and family caregivers and have helped them enjoy meaningful interactions with their loved ones, while providing engaging experiences for them.
