Director of Nursing

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional care to our residents in our 40-bed skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in skilled nursing, hospice care, and nursing home management. As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing nursing operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and promoting resident rights while fostering a culture of compassion and excellence in care.

This is the tenth time The Meadows has received this honor, and it is one of only 643 nursing homes in the nation to receive both awards. The Meadows is also a 5-star rated facility with several deficiency-free surveys.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily nursing operations within the facility, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
  • Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Manage patient care plans and ensure the accurate completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of medical records.
  • Advocate for resident rights and ensure that all staff members adhere to these principles.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care strategies.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for staff on best practices in skilled nursing environments.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Proven experience in hospice care, skilled nursing or nursing home management.
  • Strong supervisory skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Knowledge of MDS assessments and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with resident rights advocacy and best practices in patient care.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards.
