Harvey Leonard, WCVB-TV Channel 5’s chief meteorologist recently gave a weather presentation to more than 75 attendees at the award-winning, non-profit Edgewood LifeCare Community in North Andover.
As WCVB-TV Channel 5’s chief meteorologist, Leonard spoke about our record-breaking winter, historic storms, climate change and more in an educational presentation, which was followed by a lively question and answer session.
Leonard has worked as a meteorologist in New England for 40 years. He was recognized with the Silver Circle Award from National Academy of Arts and Sciences New England Chapter for more than 25 years of broadcast excellence. In addition, Leonard earned four New England Emmy Awards for outstanding achievement in television weathercasting. He is credited as the first meteorologist to correctly predict the impact and intensity of the Blizzard of ’78.
“Harvey spoke about significant weather events in a way that was both informative and thoroughly entertaining. We were thrilled to host this event,” said Marlene Rotering, President and Chief Executive Officer.
One of Edgewood LifeCare Community’s greatest attractions is that residents no longer have to worry about property maintenance. Edgewood LifeCare Community members enjoy a carefree lifestyle and no longer have to be concerned about weather challenges, such as flooding, shoveling out and large-scale snow removal. The Edgewood maintenance crew clears everything, including all cars at no additional cost to its members. Members are delighted to “come home to Edgewood”.
